NAMM 2013: Schecter Amplification Synyster Gates “Hellwin”

After our previous glimpses and speculations about what the Schecter Amplification will bring us in 2013, here’s the first actual model information that’s been released…
That is a TERRIBLE name, in my ever so slightly unhumble opinion. Well, I guess it’s in keeping with the rest of the naming in that band.
Here’s the press release:

SCHECTER AMPLIFICATION ANNOUNCES DEBUT OF THE HELLWIN SERIES OF AMPLIFIERS BY SYNYSTER GATES

Schecter Amplification is Proud to Premiere the Synyster Gates Designed Hellwin Series of Amplifiers; Amp to Unveil at Winter NAMM Room 210-D with Press Conference January 25 at 5PM

(January 22, 2013, Sun Valley, CA)  Schecter Amplification celebrates the announcement of theHELLWIN series of amplifiers – a collaboration between Synyster Gates and Schecter Amplification.  The HELLWIN USA 100 is the initial entry in the HELLWIN series, a line of products that Schecter Amplification plans to bring to market with Synyster Gates over the coming years.  “As soon as we started building amps, working with Synyster on his own designs seemed like a natural step after the nearly 10-year relationship we have shared,” says Executive Vice President Marc LaCorte“After years of trying to get all of the tone, playability and versatility I wanted in an amp, I turned to my friends atSchecter and legendary amp designer James Brown.  Together we have created HELLWIN, a line of amps engineered to sound and perform at the highest level whether you’re on the big stage or in your garage,” remarked Gates.

The first amp in the HELLWIN series is the HELLWIN USA 100, a custom-designed, all-tube model.  Working in conjunction with renowned amplifier guru, James Brown, the Avenged Sevenfoldguitarist set out to design an amp that not only captured his unique tone, but also would prove to be an important asset to players of all styles in their studio and live work.  The much-heralded guitarist worked every step of the way with Brown to create this truly remarkable amp. The entire Schecter Amplificationteam worked tirelessly, including company President Michael Ciravolo who states, “the HELLWIN USA 100 design is the perfect start to our new Schecter Amplification division…. and observing Syn being there every step of the design process was key to the creation of this authentic line of amps”.

Comments

  1. hellwin? seriously? hellwin? thats crap

  2. this guy tone’s sucks, no offense

  3. Hahaha Jed Axel, I agree wholeheartedly.

Boy Alexi, unfortunately I’m not particularly familiar with his tone – I just can’t stand the poseremodouchebag image of A7X, and thus have never been able to bring myself to listen to much of their music. However, it does make sense – they’re probably Schecter’s most high profile mainstream endorsers.

You know who is a Schecter endorsee who needs a sweet signature amp? JEFF LOOMIS.

  4. “Well, I guess it’s in keeping with the rest of the naming in that band.” LOL Gold Ed!

  5. Amp designers name is James Brown, they must be taking the piss!

  6. Apparently this guy James Brown helped design the 5150 and JSX among other things, so I wouldn’t write it off just yet… Though the name is still freaking horrible.

  7. does it comes with free makeups?

    1. thesamurai says:

I’ve heard that the make-up is BYO dude, sorry :(
